Change and Loss Counselling

Are you navigating a complex or challenging situation involving change and/or loss? These circumstances manifest in many various forms, such as job transitions, relocations, the conclusion of relationships, medical diagnoses for oneself or loved ones, bereavement, and retirement. Each individual's experience with change and loss is distinct, and I strive to collaborate closely with you to identify a path forward, whilst acknowledging your ability to make the best judgments.

About Me

Hello, I'm Jacqueline Hewitt

I am a qualified therapist and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have worked for many years in the mental health field as a practitioner, manager, and clinical supervisor. For nearly 12 years, I served as a senior manager for a national children’s mental health charity and am now enjoying private practice.

I enjoyed an international career in scientific research before life-events motivated me to retrain in Psychology, Counselling and Coaching. I have experienced loss, and dramatic changes in my own life and am familiar with the family impact of Special Educational Needs (ADHD, Autism, Dyspraxia) and addiction. My personal experiences with significant life change and loss, including child bereavement, help me to understand and empathise with you.
I am passionate about helping others overcome their challenges and learn to feel comfortable with who they are. Having examined and redirected my own life choices and career I can offer support to others experiencing significant changes in their lives. Whilst I cannot know exactly how it is for you; my experience will provide a reference to the impact of what you are experiencing and your desire to make or cope with transitions.
